Semester's over!!

Well, finally I can say I'm done with my Master's, at leas from what has to do with classes. Yesterday I turned in my last assignment for Analytic Methods and that was the end of it. The truth is that I wasn't really expecting a semester as bad as this turned to be since I was only taking that class and working on my thesis, but somehow it managed to be as bad as if I were taking 2 or 3 classes. But all that matters now is that I've finish it, now I need to finish my thesis in two months so that I can get my MS and start working on my PhD on Fall, which by the way, I got the official letter from the department saying I've been accepted into the program and will be getting an assistantship, which I'm happy for since I wouldn't be able to stay for the PhD otherwise.

So now that I have more time, I hope I will be able to keep up with the blog that I've left a little unattended lately, hopefully I will have something interesting to write about during the summer.

Playing with flickr -- part I

Night
Originally uploaded by nitewarrior.
So yesterday a I started using flicker, it turns out that it really has a lot of features, I will post about them as I keep finding them. This is the one I found today which I think is really cool. They use yahoo maps to show where a picture was taken, so the author can give some more information about it. In this case, my picture was taken outside my apt. in Tallahassee.
BTW, the post was also written directly from flickr, saving some time to blog about pictures :)

Giving up to flickr

I actually opened an account with flickr.com but never uploaded anything not totally convinced about it. Today I decided that it could be a good way to upload pictures, so friends and everybody can see them. There are some good features that the system has and I can have copies of at least my best pictures in full res. I'm also counting on it to get comments from random people about my pictures and see if I can get suggestions to improve my techniques. So far I have uploaded four pictures I had and I'll try to put up some more as time goes on. My page at flickr can be accessed here or my flickr profile (pretty much empty) here. Visits and comments are welcome :)
