Photography... a dangerous activity...

Well, not really. Today I went out to read at Strozier, my roomates told me that there was a car upside down a block from the house and was, well, I'm not going to bore you with that... the point is that I took my camera with me to try get a shot of that, as a funny picture, but the cops where already there so I didn't even bother trying to take the picture. In the way to the library, I always walk by a park close to the apt. which has a little lake, I've thought on taking pictures of it before, so today that I was carring the camera was the perfect ocassion, plus, the sun was setting and the light was really nice. While I was coposing the picture I felt an ant crawling on my foot, when i turned to see, it wasn't *an* ant, apparently, I steped on an ant's nest and I was being attacked by hundreds of them, I try to get them off but around 20 of them got to bite me on the foot and some other 3 on the hand, for some time I was feeling like I had ants crawling all over me. I had to retreat and try to shoot the picture from somewhere else. At the end, the whole thing was worth and I got a really nice shot which is here.

On the way back, I decided to venture once more, but this time away from the anywhere where ants may be. Since I didn't had my tripod with me, I had to improvise with my backpack on the ground, but I did got a nice shot from a different angle.

As I was telling Bing the other day, one of the coolest thing of photography is the setting up and trying to find the best moment/angle/light for a picture.

LOL...when I first planespotted I also got ant bites all over me from sitting near the nest. Hope you're not hurting too much...if it's fire ant you're going to be swelling for a few days. The pictures are beautiful, but yeah, better to not take pic when the cops are there. you might get your camera confiscated and get your ass shipped back to Colombia. :p
